Soothing calendula cream

I usually do not share all of the formulations we create in our lab. We usually run a series of experiments around a certain ingredient or a specific subject and create between 10-50 samples varying just a single factor each time and then coming back and comparing the stability, texture, viscosity, sensory properties to come to a conclusion. Most of these experiments are run on demand and in commission for companies we work with.

The formulation here is however an exception. I created this a while ago for a friend with a very compromised skin at the palm of her hand and the results were so awesome I decided to share the formulation with you.

GSC usually creates emulsions with a medium viscosity. By adding a little bit of a butter we increased the viscosity slightly but it is still low enough to fill the emulsion in a bottle with a lotion pump.
