Acai facial moisturizer

One of my favorite experiments is blending ingredients. Well we all do blending ingredients but I like to blend preservatives, blend emulsifiers or gums to study their synergy.

In this formulation I have used lysolecithin and GSC, two awesome emulsifiers that each work perfectly as a standalone emulsifier. By combining the two, we improve the stability of the emulsion and add a phospholipid touch to the emulsion that creates a mindblowing skin feel and texture.

Procedure:

1- Blend phase A and B separately in heatproof beakers

2- Heat both phases between 80-85 C

3- When both phases have reached the temperature stop heating and homogenize the oil phase in the water phase

4- Add the gum in the still hot emulsion. Start cooling down while stirring.

5- At a temperature below 40 C add phase D and E.

6- Prepare a 10% dilution and measure the pH. In our case it was 6,5 and we used lactic acid to reduce it to 4,9. The preservative we are using performs independent of the pH

7- Take your stability and microbial samples and fill the rest in suitable containers.
