Like (almost) every year, we have some fun lotion bars for you to make as a Halloween treat. You can prepare this formulation all year around and use other molds for the lotion bars but of course for this time of the year these cute spooky pumpkins are more suitable.
I prefer to make lotion bars in small pieces so that they are used up within a few applications. This helps keeping the cute form and is more hygienic compared to using a huge bar but that is a personal preference. The bars are waterless and self-preserving and although you can use them through the whole year, they are specifically more appealing during the cold months of the year.
The formulation and procedure are very straightforward. As simple as it is, the oils and butters pamper and nourish the skin during cold and dry months and the ceramide improves the barrier function of the skin.
Procedure:
1- Melt phase A between 50-55 C
2- When phase A is melted stop heating and add phase B
3- Cool down under stirring till reaching a medium trace
4- Pour in the mold cavities and put in the fridge for a few hours till overnight
5- Take out of the mold and wrap in tissue paper and pack in suitable jars
