HLB or the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance is a system that was meticulously followed during the second half of the last century and it is somehow still used in some industries and even in the conventional cosmetic industry.
Although we do not use it that meticulously in the "natural" cosmetics it is still to know about it in a broad spectrum.
